Default Can someone explain?

Been cutting a while now but really got some results since added cardio on a daily base and really sticking to my plan (in stead of going overboard on the weekends on anything eatable). Initially (first 1-2 weeks) lost about 3k on water. Then things slowed down to a loss of 0,4-0,5kg a week. Since 10 days or so ago, since then Im losing 0.2-0.3kg a day!
I havent changed anything in mij WO or cardio or diet but my body is going crazy on dropping fat.

Stats: 1.64m, 57,5kg, 17-18% bf

For now my daily intake is about 200gr of proteine (chicken and shakes mostly), 45gr of carbs (mostly veggies, some oats) and 35gr of fat (nuts) which adds up to about 1400kcal.

Once every 4-5 days or so I go crazy and stuff my face with chicken and nuts (wont make me blow up like a balloon but will satisfy me ) and ups my calories to 2500 or so.

Im not complaining, I love the changes in my body (sixpack starting to show now) but I just dont understand WHY this is happening all of a sudden, especially since my fatintake on some days is absurt (due to the nuts).

Any input anyone?

D.

I don't have any cut and dry answers for you...maybe someone who knows diets better can help you. I do know that fats are good and needed, as well as some carbs, but maybe in the manner you're consuming them is key....it is obviously working. And sometimes it takes a LONG time to get things moving....I'm finally coming off a plateau of more than about 2 months. I wonder if you DID change something slightly if you'd see even more results.

Great job Dani,

I have experienced the same thing. I went through 19 weeks of fat-loss - about 0.5-1 kg a week. I was cutting carbs and cycling them like having low-carbs and high-carbs days. Then plateaued for 5 weeks and was so sick and tired of working out, eating right and not getting results so I stopped cutting carbs and loaded on whole wheat breads, more fruit, whole grain food and nuts. And my fat loss took an amazing speed and I could see my abs showing more and more every day.

Now I think the key to the fat loss is actually not to stay static - always change calories, products.
I am having treats once a week - chocolate, ice-cream...yeah, whatever I want. I donīt stuff myself but allow myself to enjoy food. 2 days after a treat day I am 0.4 kg lighter!
Great, ha?!

Thnx for the input ladies. Guess it has to do with the shock my body receives from the overload on calories or something, like Sofia444 said. For now I'm gonna stop trying to figure it out and just enjoy it

I think the lower carb intake is a big reason why....plus having the higher calorie days helps keep your body from getting used to the diet. Careful with your carb intake being soooo low try to aim for slowly (SLOWLY) upping it to 1g per lb of body weight (keep it to oatmeal, brown rice and small amounts of potatos - which are best post workout, and tons of green veggies!)and 1.5g of protien per lb of bodyweight. You do not want your body to be soooo sensitive to the carbs so when you intro them back you puff up like a balloon.

Make sure you are also supplementing with a good multivitamin and calcium (check your protien powder it is a decent source!) You will also want some vitamin C w/ bioflavonoids for antioxidants while your body goes thru all these changes!!!

Congratulations and keep up the great work!!!
