Default Help! Im tired of being scrawny!

Hi, I am new here, and I am looking for help with my problem, and I can't seem to find any thing about this. I can't keep from losing wieght.
I started working out steadily a few months ago, and I am trying to build muscle, and just be stronger and healthier. I have always been skinny, not particularly athletic, and not very strong. I am 5'8. Originally I wieghed 116, and my fat percent was about 16. Now Ive lost a few pounds, and my fat percent is at 13. I don't want to have a really low fat percent, I actually wanted to gain a little fat and alot of muscle. I stick to my workouts pretty good, but after awhile, I start losing too much wieght and have to back off for awhile. I don't seem to be building much muscle either.
I strongly suspect the problem is my diet, I dont think I get enough calories to facilitate the extra exersise and the wieght I want to gain. I try to eat enough, but never seem to be able to. It is like I don't respond correctly to hunger, I will be hungry, but just keep doing whatever I am doing and then realize several hours later than I never ate anything. I also have a tendancy to like foods that are pretty low in calories, so that doesnt help me either.
Has anybody else had this problem? I try to find healthy diets, ect. to follow, but most are aimed at losing fat, which I do not want to do. I have also tried taking wieght gainer, but I can't get the full dose down without getting sick, I can only take about a quarter of it.
Any ideas? Some people tell me I should stop working out, gain a little wieght and then go back to woking out, but that doesnt seem productive to me. What can I eat that is high calorie but not unhealthy?
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

If you don't get enough protein in the diet, your muscle will not repair itself and grow. If you want to gain muscle, I think you can go 1.5 - 2 grans per lb of body weight. Muscle also needs time to rest. So if you are doing same body parts 2 days in the row, that doesn't help. To gain size of the muslce, we supposed to do heavy weight in low reps, like 6-8 with good rest in between set. 90 sec? I'm not sure, as my problem is to lower my BF. I wish I had your problem...

Sorry, I meant lean body weight. So, if your lean body weight is 100 #, you take in 150 grams to 200 grams of protein per day.

Thanks! I have read alot of your posts on here, you seem to know ALOT about this stuff. Is it better to get all the protien from food, like chicken and fish and such, or to take protien shakes, ect., or does that matter?
Yeah, it does seem to be the problem that every one wants but me. Well, me and maybe nerdy high school guys who get beat up alot.
Thanks for replying!
