Default Need a diet

Hello, I wonder if anyone can help me? I need a diet to follow, I am having a hard time following any type of diet but I really need to do this. I am exercising but these last few lbs are just not coming off and I am sure it is partly my diet.
Can anyone help?

Thanks
Denise

Do you think maybe you could share a sample day with us? It'll give us a little to work with...a tweak here, one there ....and also how your cardio is (length, if in AM on empty stomach, heart rate, etc.)?

I'm new to this group so I want to say hi to everyone. I just read a great new diet book called "The Last Diet Book Standing". I've tried a lot of other diets but this one really worked for me. It is very easy to read and follow and it gives you a list of the best brands of food to buy. It is not a fad diet but more a of lifestyle change book.

Here is what my diet looks like:
wheat toast with natural peanut butter in the morning
usually chicken, tuna, cottage cheese for lunch with wheat bread or some kind of bread
dinner I usually have whatever I make for my family which is a meat, potatoe and a vegetable. I do snack in between with things like pretzels, crackers, yogurt.
I do a workout program similar to curves but the resistance on the machines can be set so I usually have them set pretty high and I go about a 45 min. workout 4 times per week. I know my workouts are not like they use to be so this could be my problem. I use to do much more weight training than I am getting now. Do you think I should change the diet some and up the workouts?

Thanks
Denise

For a basic starter....You should be eating more...about 5-7 times/day..but not the snacking you lay out ...but we all do it There should be a mid-morning snack/meal ( even if it's just a protein shake) and a mid-afternoon one, then your dinner.

I know it's hard, but the potatoe should go..for you...but it's hard because I too have to cook for my family, and believe me, my hubby likes his potatoes...sometimes I'll just make less, skip my portion and do an extra scoop of veggies to replace it. As long as your bread is whole wheat, that's not too bad..it's the white breads that are really bad. Pretzels and crackers are really carby as well....I would replace with a protein helping, like some tuna or a baked chicken leg, or even just a shake, or there are protein bars...or just a few crackers with some cheese. As long as the yogurt's low fat that's ok...some are better than others. The basic idea of your diet should be high in protein, while carbs and fats are low...and eat small and often. I have a lot of learning about diets still, so if the other girls chime in too that's great. Lord knows I have a hard time "practicing what I preach" lol But simply changing your diet will probably help a lot...and cardio.

I see no mention of cardio? Do you do cardio? Preferably in the morning on an empty stomach...though I know for a lot of people that's not realistic with work schedules and such.

Hi, Thanks for your help. My cardio is built in with my circuit training so it is a total of 45 min. of cardio and weights.

Maybe you could try separating cardio, and giving it a good 30-45 min. on it's own? On an empty stomach preferably.

Only Diet are not Improving the Health or loss the Weight. Yoga fitness is a beautiful art that brings a perfect blend of physical strength and gracefulness in your life. Drink hot water through out the day, Do not drink liquids with your meals.
