Thanks Effie. I have a good friend who has been competing in bodybuilding for about 10 years so he helped my put my diet together. It was hard to stick to for the first week or two but Im used to it now. I read Oxygen mag too, it has great diet tips in it.

To get my healthy fatty acids, and I really like them. If I'm going to diet, I like to add one thing I really like. This way I don't feel like I'm missing out on something good

On my good days:

1.) 4 egg whites (pre workout)
2.) chicken breast w/light ranch
3.) 4 egg whites and an apple or 1/2 cup dry rolled oats
4.) chicken breast w/LR, or tuna with 1 T mayo and hot sauce
5.) 4 egg whites and 1/2 cup oats again

Okay, now for the questions:
I go to the gym in the morning, but its a half hour walk there, a half hour back, and I'm usually at the gym for 1 and 1/2 hours. So I don't get home until like 2 and 1/2 hours later to eat again. I read the cardio after weights article so I follow that route to get rid of the carbs and then do the fat burn, but I still feel leery about eating too much before I go the gym....

Also, I usually only make it for a few days with this and then I break down totally for like two days in a row, meaning I'll eat some ice cream in the morning, then decide not to go to the gym and just stay home eating all day.

I've been stuck in this cycle for like the last month and a half, and that's why I still have like 25 lbs to go. I don't really crave the junk, but if I decide to 'just have a little' it inevitably ends up being like a half gallon because I just can't stop myself (or choose not to I guess). Have you guys figured out a way to beat this??

Dirdybirdy,
I know exactly how you feel with breaking down. I did the same thing for a long time. Your diet may be too strict for you or too monotnous. I would try sitting down and writing different variations for each meal so you are not eating the same thing every day. For me, it is ALL mental. I have to fight with my brain so I do not have that cheat meal. If I have one slip up during the day I will blow off all diet and training for the rest of the day. So for me, I have to follow a super strict, well planned diet. I just competed in my first figure competition last weekend and my precontest diet went like this. (I am back on it after eating non-stop Sunday and Monday after comp

Meal one: 4 egg whites, one whole egg
Meal two: protein shake
Meal three: 5 oz. tuna, 1 tbsp. fat free mayo
Meal four: chicken breast with 4 cups of romaine, 2 tbsp. light vinagrette
Meal five: 1/2 cup cottage cheese or Dannon carb control yogurt
Meal six: 1 scoop Juiced Protein with 4 egg whites (protein pancake)

How did you do BBvos? First time is the hardest I think! You should post your pic we would love to see it. Was it a NPC event?
