Default Amenorrhea - Missed Periods

Hi, I'm wondering if it's "normal" to miss a period when decreasing caloric, fat and carb intake along with increasing cardio activity. I missed my period two weeks ago and am NOT pregnant.

Some background: I am currently on my 4th week of training and have lost 5 pounds of body weight and 2-1/4 inches around my waist. Prior to training, I worked out maybe two times / week with weights and 30 min. cardio each time. I weighed 120 and had an almost-30" waist. Not sure of my caloric intake prior to training four weeks ago. I'm guessing it was somewhere around 1,800 - 2,000. However, my current average caloric intake is approximately 1,400 -- 35% carbs, 45% protein, 20% fat. I am 5'1" and am currently 115 pounds. Not sure what my body fat % is at the moment, though three weeks ago, it was high at 25% . I will have my body fat measured again at the end of the month. Oh, I almost forgot -- I increased my cardio to 60 min. at four times per week and work out with weights one day a week (all muscle groups). Took this past week OFF from cardio and weights.
GOAL: 15% body fat with 24" waist. Body weight is not of concern to me so long as I lose the body FAT, though if I were to pick a number, it would be 100 pounds.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

It certainly is not uncommon for that to happen.

I did not know it was common so common. Should I expect to miss my period again this month and all through my training? I dieted stricter and trained harder 10 years ago and don't recall ever missing any of my periods.

Thanks again for your quick replies!

With age your period can become much more sensitive to changes in your diet and workout. Once your body leveles out you may start having a regular period again, or you may not. its purely indiviudal
