| Hey I was wondering if someone could explain to me the significance of measuring and tracking of your basal body temp first thing in the morning? I lost 20 pounds last year in 2 months (as a result of stress, no appetite and tons of stress busting cardio), The one significant change that I noticed during this time was that I would wake up just sweating buckets (nothing to do with enviromental factors)!? Was this related? Was it a good or bad thing? I have since gained back the weight (because somehow I have become a mad night eater which is another topic alltogether!) I want to lose that weight again! Wondering if this could help me guide my weight loss?

| Basically, you want to aim for a temp of around 98.2-98.8...that is optimal for weight loss. This gives your metabolism a great boost....so yes, what you experienced is probably related. If you get out of bed and do activities, it gives a false reading....as daily living affects your temp, and metabolism.
