There are lot of commercial treatments for Cellulite. But there is no total cure for it.
As with any other fat, cellulite can be reduced with a healthy, low-fat diet. Combine exercise with a healthy diet to reduce fat and cellulite.

You have to switch to low carb and low fat diets to eliminate cellulite. There is no shortcut to reducing cellulite and that too in thighs. You have to follow strict diets that are healthy and low in carbohydrates. Without proper exercises, you will not be able to achieve your goal.

As she said there is no total cure for Cellulite. But it can be controlled very well. Everything depends on our life style. If you adopt to health and low fat diet, most issues can be easily solved. Exercise plays major part of the process.

Hi Jessy Alba,

Decreasing cellulite has become an increasingly and popular goal for many women. A lot of women also just see it as disgusting ripples in their skin and get the idea that if they have cellulite they must be fat.

Interestingly enough, the term “cellulite” was first introduced to the public by a fashion magazine. Which forces us to raise an eyebrow on the facts of cellulite.

A couple years ago The Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) stated that “There is no medical condition known or described as cellulite in this country.”

Because there’s no official medical term for cellulite conditions, does that mean that there can be a “cure?” it sure seems that way. This is proven by the thousands of products and procedures available to combat this condition.

Cellulite is basically a term used to describe the fat deposits under your skin that externally give your skin a dimpled or orange-peel like appearance. It’s mainly seen in women because the fat is arranged in large chambers that are separated by columns of collagenous fibres.

Fibrous strands of tissue connect your skin to deeper layers of tissue, creating compartments of normal fat cells. When your fat cells increase in size, the compartments swell and produce the dimpling appearance on your skin.

In overweight people excess fat is filled into these compartments causing them to bulge out. On the surface of the skin the bulging provides the dimply appearance of cellulite, especially in areas such as the butt, thighs and hips.

What makes cellulite even more mysterious is that it’s also predetermined by genetics so even a slim woman can develop the appearance. Many factors such as hormones, pregnancy, and aging can all contribute to the weakening of the collagen fibres to give the cellulite appearance.

Although there are many products and services out there that advertise they can get rid of your cellulite, what I’ve found to work well with my clients have been these guidelines:

1. Avoid bad fats – especially fat/sugar and fat/salt combinations

2. Choose nutritious fruits and veggies

3. Choose the right types of proteins in the right combinations

4. Learn to snack correctly

5. Minimize alcohol intake

6. Minimize refined sugar intake

7. Take a daily multi vitamin

Hope that helps,

- CptG

Because of its structure, cellulite can be more difficult to eliminate than other forms of fat (see information to the left). If you're having a hard time getting the results you want with diet and exercise, don't beat yourself up. Even supermodels can have cellulite -- it's just harder to see through all that super-confidence and airbrushing. Focus on achieving a healthy body, and over time you will start seeing less cellulite and more muscle. Even if you can't completely get rid of cellulite, it will be less noticable as you become more toned and slim.

As with any other fat, cellulite can be reduced with a healthy, low-fat diet. The appearance of a localized fat lump or dimple may not change, but your overall cellulite can diminish with a diet low in saturated fats and trans fatty acids -- both of which are common in processed foods and are more difficult for the body to process. Replace processed foods with fresh fruit and vegetables and whole grains. Reduce your overall fat consumption and choose "healthy" fats (like lean meat or nuts) over junk food. Limit your daily caloric intake to a healthy amount for size and lifestyle. Take a multi-vitamin, and drink lots of water.

Combine excercise with a healthy diet to reduce fat and cellulite. Without exercise, even the healthiest of diets can show minimal results. A combination of cardio (like running or biking) and strength training can help your body metabolise food more efficiently, decreasing the accumulation of excess cellulite and the overall appearance of fat on your body. If you're not used to a lot of exercise, start slow; try walking a mile or two everyday before you take up jogging. If you have a hard time with motivation, ask a friend to join you or find a nearby gym to join and talk to a personal trainer. Be realistic in your expectations for youself, and remember that thirty minutes a day of any exercise (walking the dog counts) will make a difference.

Some people recommend intense massages designed to get rid of cellulite. The reasoning behind these massages is that the deep tissue pressure can "even out" or "flatten" deposts of cellulite. In reality, most of these massages simply reduce the appearance of cellulite by causing your skin to temporarily expand or puff up. Talk to a medical professional or professional massage therapist about this option before you try it. While this may work in the short-term, cellulite will return without significant changes in your diet and lifestyle. Also keep in mind the intensity of massage required to get even temporary results will most likely be painful and may even cause bruising.

Medical procedures like liposuction are advertised as "fat busters" or and promise almost-instant cellulite elimination. The reality is that fat cannot ever be completely be eliminated without serious health reprecussions. Even after liposuction, fat and cellulite will come back and the dangers of such an invasive process are often much worse than the problem of unaesthetic cellulite.

The main way to get rid of fat is diet and exercise. Cellulite is excess fat that the body doesn't need but pretty much has nowhere else to go. Lotions, creams, and coffee grinds do not work. I have also heard the myth about how massage helps. However, being a massage therapist, I know that this is not true at all. If it was, we wouldn't have people asking this question. The best way to loose cellulite, which is mainly in butt and thighs (but can be anywhere else on the body) is to cut back on fatty foods, eat smaller portions, keep a good intake of protein to feed your muscles, and to exercise.
