Default Is anyone else motivated by conneting Mind & Body?

I have just started a regular workout routine, 3 times a week, in the morning. Even though this isn't that often, I still find myself losing motivation to continue. I was searching for motivational techniques when I came across tips by a professional athlete. This volleyball player wasn't just training to win, but competing to build emotional, mental, and physical strength. She found that training was a way to put her mind and body in sync. http://divinecaroline.com/article/22340/24836

I still am really inspired by this idea. I wanted to know if anyone else has ever found spirituality a motivation factor?

The mind is so important for staying with your exercise. Has it helped you a lot?

Well, I would say it IS helping a lot. It is a process not something I have achieved. I was inspired by the article to try it this way. How about you?

If you are motivated by this way of thinking, you may want to take a martial arts or boxing class. Those are the core principles of both disciplines. Yoga is the same way as well. Be careful though, while yoga is good for your health I wouldn't consider it a workout in all cases. Make sure you take a class at the studio to make sure it's a good fit before you sign up.

i would say it helps. if you keep thinking about something else while your working out like "this isn't going to work, i'm fat, etc" your not fully concentrating on the workout and will start to slack off and eventually quit altogether. if you think positive as your working out...you gain energy..or atleast thats how i feel.

Your body do only what your mind says. So,if you have good control over mind, you can control yourself well. Self-motivation is really an essential one. If you motivate yourslf by thinking you can, ofcourse you can do it. So, be confident in the work-outs you do and concentrate in it. It will really work out.

There is two major ways to connect body and soul. One is Yoga and other is meditation.
When it comes to meditation Buddha's teaching to meditation is the optimum path the learn meditation.

Connecting mind and body is a great topic to discuss. People trend to research on mind related topics than physical stuff. It is proved that high percentage of diseases cased from weak mind. Synchronization of mind and body is a science to discover. Yoga is said to open door to start with.
