I have been having some knee problem. I didn't go to the doctor yet, but it seems it comes from tight muscle because sometime it is not just my knee, or not my knee, it is also my hip. I had this on my left leg for about 6 months now, comes and goes. When it seems fine, I run longer than I should, and make it worse again. So, this time, I decided to take it easy. However this decision is makig me lazy. Cardio was always part of my work out, not too long, just about 20 mins. But now I wake up at 4 am and think to myself why should I go to gym when I cannot do cardio. Maybe I just don't know what to do. Maybe I am lost without cardio in my life, although 40% of me is thinking this may be good for me. I can still do chest, back, arm, inner tigh, shoulder. I used to split the workout, but I am thinking about doing whole body workout 5 days a week, without cardio. Should I lower my cal intake since I am not doing any cardio?

Hi neko Have you tried swimming? or perhaps some sort of water work-out? Three years ago, I had fallen onto the sidewalk near my home and shattered my left knee-cap. This has aggravated one of my chronic illnesses, in a BIG way!! Right now, tho I have chosen to get back into being/getting fit--with learning to swim. Of course, check with your dr. first!!! This is my first on this particular forum--so please be patient with this 'newbie'.

It might be a joint issue. I'd talk with your doctor and see if there is medicine or foods that will help with your joints. I'd also recommend, like the person above, swimming as it puts less stress on your joints. Most pools have water-aerobics that help you stay fit.
