Default Working out and pain

I've been working out for a while. I'm mostly into weight training. I'm going for the slightly buff & vascular look. One thing I've had trouble with is that I have quite a bit of pain/ache after workout. Not immediately, but one day after my workout, I feel a little achy in the muscles that I work out the day before. No problem, since I work out a different set of muscles on that day. The second day, the ache/pain is more severe. I don't want to wait any longer to workout, so I usually work out anyway. It takes a little while to work through the pain, but about half way into the workout, the pain is better. Is that what I should expect when I work out hard? I'm sure I'm not overdoing it. I limit my workouts to about an hour. My schedule is:

Day 1: Legs/Abs
Day 2: Biceps/Chest
Day 3: Triceps/Shoulders/Back
Day 4: repeat day 1

I am NOT using supplements or anything else. I'm totally natural, and intend to stay that way.

Advise? Experience?

Love,
Fitgirl

I'll be conservative in my answer, because it's always a guess when it comes to muscles, etc.

Where is the pain? If it's just an all over generalized thing, and it feels muscular, take some Ibuprofen, and try some heat, or ice if swelling. This is likely just from working out hard, but should feel better in a couple days.

If it feels more joint like, DO NOT push through it...you could be further damaging ligaments, cartilage, etc....the internal joint structures. Get that assessed by your doc.

The pain is definetely muscular. I do wait at least 48hrs between working out the same muscle. I'm just surprised that it lasts so long. I generally work through the pain if I'm still having it when I return to that particular muscle group. I NEVER workout any muscle 2 days in a row.

Thanks for the reply. Any more comments?

Thanks,
Fitgirl
