| Ok, so I was at the gym today and two things that really peeve me happened. The first was that there was this guy there, working out, and he had his toddler with him! I'm sorry but the gym is no place for a baby like that. I hate when people bring their kids to the gym anyway, and the kids are all over the equipment and could get hurt, but this is the worst! You cannot watch a toddler while you're busy staring at yourself in the mirror as you lift weights! She could have gotten hurt so easily that I couldn't even comfortably work out, I had one eye on her the entire time! Then, to make me even more annoyed, some guy comes in with his friend and his friend has bathed in some kind of stinky smelling cologne. The gym has a no scent policy but I guess no one cares, so they're standing right by me as I work out and I have to keep smelling stinky and I'm allergic to cologne! ARG! Ok, I'm done for now... | I agree the gym is no place for small children. To many dangers for little ones. I would make a complaint to the management. Not just for the saftey of the child but for them as well. That is a lawsuit waiting to happen if the little one was to get seriously hurt. I also believe that if the gym has a no scent policy, that it should be enforced. I use to manage a gym and found out very fast that when I left the staff often didn't enforce policies. Which created more than one headache for me. Sending the management a nice note explaining your concerns would be excellent. Often the owner or management has no idea what goes on when they are not on duty. Since it's very hard for them to be there all the time, and when they are. They are so into all the paper work ect, they may not be able to pay attention to these details .

| I was telling my friend about it tonight and she said that I should write a letter expressing my concerns about the child being there, so I think that I will. The thing about enforcing the no-scent rule is that there is no staff on duty all the time there. It's only staffed by 3 people and they just aren't there a lot of the time. I'm definitely going to write a letter about the child though. I'll probably let the other slide because it rarely happens that someone is in there wearing something perfumy and I don't want to be the "complainer". ![]() I was definitely concerned for the little girl's safety though, especially since her father was too busy looking at himself in the mirror to watch her. | kids are not allowed in the gym at all in my area. and children under 11 are not even allowed on the premises. my son is 11 and he wanted to train , they said no way, he can only wait in the cafe area, he cannot even walk through the gym. due to liability.i`m not sure if u.k laws are different, or if this is just the gym i go to. i totally understand that you couldn`t focus with the toddler there. i`m really surprised the father could. |

| Apparently he could focus so well that he was back today with her! I couldn't believe it! I was doing my cardio in the cardio room and in he comes with her in tow. I was going to let it go because I don't like making waves but no, if he's making a habit of it then obviously I have to complain. I'm in Canada and we're not a sue happy country so I'm not concerned so much about the gym being liable as I am about the child's safety. I just would rather do it anonymously but the gym frowns on stuff like that. So I'll own up to it but I hope the guy never puts two and two together that it was me that complained if they say something to him. When he walked into the room with her today my jaw dropped. I'm not sure if he saw the look on my face or not but I really couldn't believe he was back again with her. I thought maybe yesterday was just a fluke, like he had no choice or something... Grrr, angry! |

| Children under 13 are not allowed in my gym. I would come straight out and tell this fool 'What the hell ...?' How rediculous is this guy. And as for the stink bomb, probably an Old Spice fanatic. Ha ha. Actually my Grand Father used to wear this, but really I find smelly armpits a lot harder to deal with. I will actually gag when I get a whif of B.O. |

| In Michigan most of the gyms have day care centers. But I totally agree that if the gym does not then they should wait to have their workout or try and find someone to watch them. Why would someone wear colonge in the gym, sorry but that is gross, thats like my peeve when I see other girls come in and they have caked up makeup on there face, this irritates me. Especially the new girls and then you see them the next week and they wonder why thier breaking out in pimples, lol. They don't care though, they just put more makeup on, ![]() I'm so happy though I'm moving soon, LMR and my self and there is a fitness center where we are getting our place, it is in a totally seperate building next to the pool, I can't wait.

| well we have a daycare in my gym for parent who feel the need to bring them! As for stinky I bring a small fan with me and when stinky people with B.O or perfume get to close I put the fan in their direction to blow it away! No one gets in my way of a good workout! They give me a dirty look but I just give it right back! If they want ripples I give them ripples!~~~~~~~~ |
