| What are the traditions for a Canadian Thanksgiving? I'm just curious if it is similar to ours!

| I would have to say every family is defferent. My family gets together on my mom side on the sunday and and we have a big dinner with turkey, stuffing, sweet potato casserol, carrots, salad, and pumkin pie for desert, home made breads. if there is no snow then all the kids go out to play in the back yard, we take lots of pictures. There is alot of ties between thanks giving and halloween, the scarecrow festival is next weekend and there they have pumpkin carving and bake sale. a corn maze and scarecrow making, games and raffles, and a big family dance in the evening. On the Monday we go to my hubbies side and again have a big dinner. Their about 8 kids and we usualy set up a craft for them to do. We however do it potluck so everyone shares the food responsibility. I usually make goodie bags for each child and if their is no snow then we get them to rake leaves into pumpkin bags for halloween, they have a blast jumping in the piles of leaves. We then all go for a walk outside through the park before pie and then pick names for Christmas. Its a lovely weekend > How do you guys usually celebrate it??? |
