Unhappy My first flu illness....

with my 11 1/2 month old Man, I didn't realize such a small guy could be SO sick ....I swear I don't have that much to empty out!! I mean, for his size, it was A LOT! It was a bit un-nerving....babies/almost toddlers make me uneasy....they can get SO sick SO fast...and I think being a nurse kind of makes it worse....you don't want to go to the doc "for nothing", so you keep waiting, and waiting.....he ate a bit today though, a little juice but no formula. May have to crack out the Pedialyte! Makes me feel guilty for having to go back to work in a couple weeks...I feel I need to be here for things like that....and he'll be at my parents' place for sometimes 3 days in a row

Thanks for listening...men just don't understand

I'm so sorry to hear about that girl! With kids they might be deathly ill and they are still playing like nothing is wrong until night fall and then it is like an emergency that scares the heck out of ya. My kids never really liked the pedilyte's so I always kept ice pops on hand to keep them hydrated. Good luck and I hope he feels better.

Thanks all! He seems a bit better today...in fact he's become real snuggly now! (He always sort of preferred to be playing rather than being held).

Today was his 2nd trial at daycare to prepare for when I go back to work....and he's already caught on that I'm leaving when we get there! I know it's common for them to cry, but it just broke my heart...I wish I had more time off. He also cried when I picked him up, like to say "I was scared you weren't coming back" ....making me teary just thinking about it.

I'm going to have to have him in daycare/with my parents for days in a row....how do you girls deal with it? I feel that anything more than a day is cruel.

Hope he is feeling better. I am a single mom that works two jobs plus train for competion. Working hours that i give kisses before they wake and after they are in bed for days on end is hard. Just know that u are doing what it takes in the long run for a better future for them. You have to enjoy the little amount of time u are blessed with and know they'll appreciate it when they get older.

I was a single mom for a number of years. My parent's took care of my two children. It wasn't easy for me to leave them, but the fact that my mom was there for them made it a little easier. My thought was if they learned something new I wanted my mom to see it not a stranger.

The hard part about having my mom watch them was sometimes I felt left out. They would go to her before coming to me at times. This took me sometime to work through.

I finally realized that I would rather have my mom watch them than someone else. After all she raised me! and I turned out fine (Right!)....lol

so glad the little one is feeling better. it`s so scary when they are little and get poorly.
it is always hard to go back to work after having a baby. but you will soon settle into a routine, and you will cherish every minute you have with your son.
good luck with going back to work.

Thanks gals!! Nice to feel I'm not alone. And Effie, I bet I'll come across that too, and yes, I'd rather my parents than a stranger. I just don't want to miss his first "real" steps!! All by himself, no furniture. I'm dreading work....in intensive care, so much must have changed!!!

Hope everything is well, your right it is un-nerving to see the little ones get so sick, they don't know how to handle it as good as adults do. Although my days for children still await me and LMR but I'm excited to be a mother one day. Good Luck!!!
