Default What are your goals??

Short term? long term? next week, next hour?

I would like to get down to about 15% body fat, maybe weight 115.. have some well defined abs, and raisee my rear end up a little bit.. thats short term

long term I would like to compete in fitness competitions, write a book on how weight lifting should be incorporated into dance training, and teach arobics and personal training for a gym on the side of my regular job of teaching dance.

My goals are to get down to 125lbs or lower. I'd like my body fat to be in the high teens somewhere.
I want to get flatter, more toned abs.
I also want to build up some muscle in my arms (I have naturally muscular legs).
I also want to increase my endurance and some day get to the point where I can run on the treadmill without having a severe asthma attack!
I kind of want to look like a fitness model, but I don't think I'd ever compete. In another lifetime I would have loved to get into wrestling.
Those are my goals as far as fitness goes.
Professionally, I want to become a teacher (hs English) and I'd love to see nutrition and fitness education taught in schools. Lately I've been thinking about writing a proposal to the school district in regards to healthy eating in schools and what they can do to encourage children to make better food choices (like taking out pop and candy machines and replacing their contents with water, juices, fruit and the like).

svgjen...I thought some schools have done that already?

Great goals....short term....hmm, get my pre-pregnancy figure back for when I go back to work....but it won't happen....Aug 2, and about 20-25lbs to go! Yikes...I gained 60!!! during pregnancy...thanks to some complications! Overall, no less than 135....I'm 5'9".....and as princess too, about 15%....I used to be around 20% prior to marriage!! lol I was probably around 25% at pregnancy...so I want to make some big improvements...OK, some of this is long term...

I also would like to compete in fitness some day...and if I don't, at least have the figure to do so.

So, by the end of winter, heading into spring, I want to be ready to have a go with var...get in tip-top shape for next summer....and no more kids!! Yikes, it was rough on my poor body, and I refuse to live with it! But I guess he was all worth it

Naughty Nurse - The school I worked at was part of a pilot program for healthier eating. They brought in a vegetable or fruit tray at recess time, a few times, however, they still sold junk food from the snack cart.

One thing they were doing, that I liked, was they formed a walking club and a lot of kids joined that. Every day at noon and after school, they'd go walking, weather permitting.

I just want to see them take it to the next step. Get rid of the junk food. Especially in a middle school, which is where I was. I know there was some education as far as eating choices and the Canada Food Guide, but it wasn't enough and I'm not even sure the kids got anything out of it. I'd just like to see them do something more aggressive when it comes to targeting obesity rates in children.

I agree...unfortunately, with all of the media, I don't think that stuff is as appealing to kids as say, those fancy Doritos commercials!! But it's all in how they're raised!

Naughty Nurse - I agree, but if proper health education is taught in schools, maybe things will change. Maybe I'm an unfortunate, rose coloured glasses wearing, die hard optimist.
